Let's Talk Mealworms!!!!
On Tuesdays and Fridays, of each week, change the bedding (corn flakes) and add a piece of apple or potato in the mealworm habitiat, just as we did in class.
You can blog about your mealworm observations as it moves into the last two stages-- pupa and adult.
When all of your mealworms enter the larva stage, you will not need to provide the larva with bedding or moisture (potato or apple). During the larva stage, the "critter" will be going through amazing changes.
Once one critter moves to the adult stage, you will need to provide the Darkling Beetle with bedding and moisture (potato or apple) **.Add bedding only once. You may change the potato. Do not remove the beetles from their habitat.
I will send you home with a baggie of corn flakes for the first bedding change at home. Please have your parent buy a box of corn flakes for your 'critters' bedding.
I look forward to reading about your scientific observations!
